But Patrick’s journey with grindworks is more than just playing our clubs—it’s about co-creating the future of elite golf equipment. He didn’t just choose our premium Japanese craftsmanship; he actively partnered with us to refine and push the boundaries of performance.

The story of the PR-101A forged iron began with a challenge. Patrick came to us with a request: an iron that delivers absolute control—one that lets him shape shots with precision, flight the ball down in the wind, and attack pins with confidence. He needed a club that wouldn't just react to his swing but amplify his shot-making ability at the highest level of competition.
Through relentless innovation and meticulous craftsmanship, we developed a stepped-design forged iron that raises the center of gravity, providing the penetrating trajectory and spin control Patrick demanded. Soft S20C forging ensures a buttery feel, while stability enhancements maximize precision on every strike.
The proof? Patrick Reed debuted the prototype PR-101A irons at the Hero World Challenge in December 2019—and the results were undeniable. He went on to claim victory at the World Golf Championships in Mexico in February 2020 and again at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in January 2021.
To commemorate this extraordinary partnership, grindworks launched a limited-edition Patrick Reed Signature Iron Set—a meticulously crafted, 8-piece (3-PW) set that embodies the very essence of elite performance. Only 100 sets were made available worldwide, each presented in a specially designed collector’s box, making it a true piece of golfing history.
